Insure Logic — Smart Insurance

Business insurance

Business & Commercial

General liability, property, workers' compensation, commercial auto, and certificates.

Commercial is where an independent agent earns the fee. Class codes, experience mods, and carrier appetite change constantly, and the difference between two markets on the same risk can be thousands of dollars a year.

Insure Logic handles the paperwork side too: Accord applications, certificates of insurance for your general contractor, and additional insured endorsements, usually same day.

The checklist

What gets confirmed on a business policy

Correct class code

A stale class code from a business that changed what it does is the most common overcharge in commercial insurance.

General liability limits and aggregate

Per-occurrence is the headline number. The aggregate is what is left after the first claim.

Workers' compensation and experience mod

Payroll and sales figures drive the premium. Both should be reviewed annually, not carried over.

Business property and equipment

Including property you are responsible for but do not own.

Business interruption

Covers the income while you are closed. Frequently omitted, rarely regretted.

Certificates and additional insureds

Turned around quickly, because your job usually cannot start without one.

Common questions

Business questions we get asked

Can you get a certificate of insurance out the same day?

In most cases, yes. Send the requirements from the general contractor or property manager and it usually goes back the same business day.

My business changed what it does. Does that matter?

It matters a great deal. If you stopped manufacturing and now rent space for seasonal storage, your class code changed and your premium should have changed with it. That is worth re-marketing to a different carrier.

Do you write workers' compensation?

Yes, through carriers including FirstComp and SFM among others, alongside general liability and commercial property.
